Our Packaging Materials

Primary Packaging

Plant-Based Materials: Our product containers are made from biodegradable plant-based plastics derived from renewable resources such as cornstarch and sugarcane.  Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Content: We utilize packaging with a minimum of 70% post-consumer recycled content, significantly reducing the demand for virgin materials.  Water-Soluble Inks: All printing on our packaging is done with non-toxic, water-soluble inks that break down naturally without releasing harmful chemicals.
Shipping Materials

Recycled Cardboard: Our shipping boxes are made from 100% recycled cardboard and are fully recyclable.  Instead of bubble wrap or styrofoam, we use biodegradable alternatives like mushroom packaging, recycled paper padding, and cornstarch-based packing peanuts.  Paper Tape: We secure our packages with paper-based tape or recycled plastic tape to ensure every component is recyclable.
Environmental Impact

Our sustainable packaging choices have measurable benefits: Carbon Footprint Reduction: Our packaging materials require 65% less energy to produce than traditional alternatives.  Waste Reduction: All our packaging materials are either recyclable, compostable, or biodegradable, resulting in zero waste to landfills when properly disposed of.  Resource Conservation: By using recycled materials, we save approximately 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water, and 380 gallons of oil for every ton of packaging produced.
Consumer Disposal Guidelines

We make it easy for you to properly dispose of our packaging:

Recyclable Items: Look for the recycling symbol on our packaging for items that can be placed in your standard recycling bin.  Compostable Items: Products labeled as compostable can be added to your home compost or industrial composting facilities.  Biodegradable Items: These will naturally break down in the environment, though we always recommend proper disposal through recycling or composting when possible.

Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. We are constantly researching and testing new materials and methods to further reduce our environmental impact. Our packaging evolution roadmap includes:  Transitioning to 100% plastic-free packaging by 2027.
